I’ve been having really sharp heart pains for as long as I can remember, they don’t last that long, but I have to Push against my chest really hard and take a deep breath for it to go away. I have heart conditions on both sides of my family. What do you think it is. I was happy to learn… First of all, you should talk to a doctor about these pains. Getting an EKG would provide some good information about whether your heart is involved, particularly if the EKG is done very close to the time you are experiencing the pain. Also a treadmill stress test may be needed. That having been said, it is likely that the pain has nothing to do with your heart, particularly if you are fairly young and in otherwise good health. The chest is packed full of various organs, some of which are associated with digestion and have been known to hurt. Your liver, pancreas, lungs, ribs, lots of muscles — all are crammed in there. Acid reflux often mimics heart pain. Get checked out, just in case it’s something serious. Good luck. .
